I love Christmas, and I’m starting to peer pressure my husband into loving it too. We now have a tradition of stopping the Saturday after Thanksgiving to get our tree and come home to decorate in a whirlwind of glitter and pine needles. Our trip home takes us through Rhode Island and past our favorite brewery so we stop and get the tree in southern Rhode Island and stop by Trinity for a couple of pints, some hoisin chicken wings and a growler to go.
I love Halloween decorations, but we don’t have kids, or a yard, so its hard to justify the cost of store bought decorations. However, we generate a large number of empty liquor bottles and I decided to put those to use. Thanks Pinterest! In total, I needed white and black paint markers, painter’s tape, goo-off, googly eyes (of course), green, orange and white spray paint, medical tape and four bottles.
I grew up watching Julia Childs (she was on before Sesame Street) and I love her. I can’t explain why, but the re-runs are like Law and Order reruns. I’ve seen it before but I CAN’T TURN IT OFF. So I defer to her expertise in most things. Including
killing cooking lobster.
