Dave & Marte's Simple Sundays

It’s football season and we’re a Patriot’s family.  I admit, I don’t know all the rules and I can get distracted, but I love the games. Game day means time with friends, good food and beer. When the Pats play you’re suddenly part of a much large community. Yelling at the refs, cheering Gronk and Brady and jeering the other team along with everyone else on TV, the family next door, the kids in the park (they have truly foul mouths).

I realized this summer that simplicity starts with forgiveness; all kinds of forgiveness but mostly for yourself.

We’ve been married for more than two years now and I’ve only just realized that 1) I’m not Martha Stewart (despite the shared forename), 2) Martha Stewart is not married, 3) Martha Stewart is not one woman. I cannot cook freezer meals for three months, clean our whole apartment, finish all the errands for the week on Saturday and put on a fabulous Saturday dinner party by myself. And that’s okay!
